Kim Kaplan

I have in excess of three decades experience in the many phases of surface transportation.  Early on I found a home in the fast paced world of 'transportation operations’ and recognized my extreme interest in liquid bulk transportation.  Working the many years in what we now call logistic operations, then ‘dispatch’, it allowed me to have a complete understanding of this unique arm of transportation.  Working within operations I found myself very involved in several aspects of the business, safety, sales, equipment maintenance, technological systems and anything else that would garner me further knowledge in liquid transportation. Today I continue to focus on the operations of K-Limited, working with our management professionals in the many departments, as well as our all pro drivers, that are essential to our success.  The knowledge and heart that drove me through my many years, now drives an entire entity, K-Limited Carrier.

Family: Dean, Phillip and our dog Truker (officially KLTD HazMat Tank Truker)

My mission is to direct the economic health and environment for K-Limited Carrier, while striking a strong balance for our growth, both internally and externally. I have a firm belief that our Senior Management Group, and their proactive efforts and influence provide a strong recipe for success. Their positive values, complimented by exceptional integrity, bring all phases of our Company together at the table; operations, finance, safety, and maintenance. Their efforts allow us to maximize a decision-making process that best benefits what really makes our company GO. Our people and their families, whom have built K-LTD, provide the dynamics that allows us to excel in customer service and give back to the trucking industry and our community.

I am a firm believer in building relationships and maintaining a high level of involvement within the Transportation Industry.  As a result I am very active in the various trucking related organizations.

Interests: Include, but are not limited to, my family, collegiate athletics, in particular The Ohio State Buckeyes, golf, skiing and music- especially the Grateful Dead!

John Spurling

Senior Vice President, Operations

At K-Limited, we believe “No limit on Safety” is a critical part of our success. With my over 20 years of experience in daily operations, training and safety, I know that Safety and Operations must work hand-in-hand to meet the needs of our employees and customers. Professionalism is a standard at K-Limited along with a true open door policy starting with our President. K-Limited respects the transportation profession and the men and women that help make our company a success. We have the ability to get things accomplished in a manner safe for the environment, community, employee and shipper.

Education: Bachelor of Business Administration Lawrence Technological University

Hobbies: My family time, music, sports and the outdoors are all very important

I believe in our excellent customer service and proactive management style that makes non-conformance an easy problem to solve. Implementing corrective actions is part of my responsibility and thanks to the strong management team, our review of non-conformances and ability to manage corrective actions have been instrumental to our success. All the employees here, from administration to mechanics to drivers and anyone else involved, are qualified and quality people who work together to meet the needs of our customers.

Paul Gray

Director of Maintenance

As head of the Maintenance Department, every one of my 40 years directly involved in transportation maintenance are required for the constant training needed to stay abreast of the technology that has consumed this part of the industry.

In daily tough decision-making with drivers, vendors and immediate staff, I always keep a “heads up” approach. Being responsible for all of K-Limited’s equipment at all locations is a challenge every day. Meeting it every day is what brings K-Limited success.

Education: Macomber Vocational Training Center, Certifications with Detroit Diesel, Cummins and numerous other training seminars.

Hobbies: My wife Vickie of 38 years, our 3 kids and 7 grandchildren, golf, Ohio State Football and the Green Bay Packers.

About K-LTD:

It has offered me the tools and support that allow my department to run safely and efficiently. The proactive approach on a daily basis enables us to be leaders not followers and, finally, the pride and image that our company has is at the highest level I have witnessed in my 40 year career.

Melanie Feeley

Vice President, General Business Manager and Secretary

My past experience in sales, employee benefits and passion for numbers and people has translated well into the trucking industry. During my time at K-Limited Carrier, Ltd. my role and responsibilities have grown.  As Corporate Secretary and Accounting Manager, I am responsible for Accounts Receivables, Credits/Collections, Fixed Assets, Audits, IT, Corporate HR and the oversight of Billing, Accounts Payable, Employee Benefits, Payroll and other administrative functions. We have experienced growth over the years and our Finance Department has been able to take on these challenges and continue to work to be more efficient. In addition, I am a 2016 graduate of the ATA’s LEAD Program.  LEAD ATA was a great opportunity to learn more about the industry and network with other young leaders, so I can become a better leader. My goals include being active in our local and national trucking associations to increase my knowledge and understanding of this ever changing industry, continuous HR education and working closely with and learn from our President and CFO as K-Limited Carrier continues to grow.

Education: University of Toledo and Owens Community College – Criminal Justice

Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with my family, my husband, Pat, daughter Madison and two Jack Russell Terriers, Pickles and Plumber, and friends. We like to spend time at the lake, golfing and of course, Ohio State Football.

Candi Coate

Vice President, Safety and Regulatory Compliance

I am thrilled to be the newest member of the K-Limited family, having just started with the company on January 2, 2013. I have over 17 years of experience in the chemical industry, which is key to understanding the varying transportation challenges and importance of staying informed on safety regulations. I’ve known most of the K-Limited management, accounting and operations folks for many years and they’re an amazing group of people. No one’s afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. 

Education: Bachelor of Business Administration, specializing in Finance, from the University of Toledo.

Hobbies: I enjoy traveling, especially when there is sunshine and palmtrees involved.
